I just joined the site but I'm in the Ashland area. I'm definitely a novice but I'm enjoying trying. I called in a double 2 weeks ago and now I'm hooked.

Good Job, just started myself and have spent more time buying guns and gear than actually hunting. We have only called in 1 on 5 sets. Have not been out in a week now so hoping that the weather settles and we get some action. Keep us posted on how you do.

I have a couple hand calls and I think I can sound like something dying.

Still looking for spots to hunt, need to just start stopping and talking to people and checking out some of the public land.

Hope to get out tomorrow and see if anything is moving after this little cold snap.

Not caught in it, but thanks.........just been busy buying guns. Picked up a .17HMR, .223, 22-250, .243 over the last few weeks.
Today I ran into a deal on a 20 ga, 12 ga, and another .243......Now I got to use them or lose them.....lol...

the 12 ga with some 3" #4 buck is a deadly combo. Do some scouting, look for tracks, scat, dead animals. With the deer season over and the gut piles and lost deer finished up, hunting should improve

Out yesterday for a few hours. Lots of sign, no dogs. Won't be out now until next weekend, work says no vacation this week.

No hunting for me this past weekend, I was down in Iowa for a big archery shoot.

Hoping to get out next weekend as well.

Not gonna be out for a while, had lower back tooth removed and it has me slowed way down. Weather is great right now, so dogs should be moving, let me know what you see and get folks. :(

I'm headed out down in the Grantsburg area. Going to take my dad out with a new gun that we got him ... he doesn't know it yet.

Picked up a Ruger American 223 put a Vortex Diamondback 3.5-10x50 on it. I got it rough sighed in for him and it is shooting under 1" with Fiocchi Extrema 50gn V-max. I hope he likes it.

Good luck to anyone else headed out this weekend.

I'm around the Ashland area this weekend if anyone wants to go out. My spots are pretty dry but I'm sure we could come up with a couple spots of public land to try.
