Winter Outdoor Skills Camp at Crex

Postby Fitter » Thu Mar 03, 2016 12:57 pm

GRANTSBURG, Wis. - Youth ages 8-15 who are interested in learning more about science and conservation are encouraged to attend a Winter Outdoor Skills Camp at Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area March 21 - 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

These camps help maintain outdoor traditions and prepare youth for a lifetime of outdoor pursuits. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources provides a hands-on introduction to snowshoeing, survival concepts, and wildlife conservation. Classes will incorporate both indoor and outdoor activities. Preliminary registration is required - space will be limited to 20 students.

Parents are welcome to attend, and participants should bring insulated winter clothing and boots and a water bottle. Snacks and refreshments will be provided onsite.

For registration information, contact Kristi Pupak, DNR wildlife conservation educator, at 715-463-2739. Crex Meadows State Wildlife Area is located at 102 East Crex Ave., Grantsburg, Wis.

Please report your Crex wildlife observations via email: information@crexmeadows.org.
What you do in the dark will someday come to light.
