Are there prairie dogs in Wisconsin?

Ive been here 6 years and have never seen one and every body I ask doesnt know. I moved here from Kansas and I love to hunt prairie dogs so if they are here please tell me where they are. Thanks Jimmy

Unfortunetly no, I think the nearest ones are about 8hrs west of here. I do know where about two dozen of them are here, but I think the zoo would not like it! lol ; ) We normally hit a town or two on the way back from Wyoming every year or so, closest ones to Wisconsin are about midway through the Dakotas...

I saw some at the Minnesota Zoo..but I don't think they want you shooting them. Closest place is Pierre, South Dakota. Chamberlain is a good place. Go see Chief White Mouse on the Res. He will set you up for a one time fee..show you where they are, then you are on your own from there.

Thanks somersetrog it might be worth checkin out. No prairie dogs here but we got ground hogs and they are protected go figure :!:

I go 14 hours west every year to shoot them. There are some closer, find them just as you cross the river at Chamberland SD. Been out 9 years now.
