Just curious what kinds of fox we have in Southeastern Wisconsin?

I know red fox are pretty common where my grandmother lives up north of the dells.

But around here (Racine County) I am not sure.

Calling for grey and red fox are really different and what works for grey's usually won't work for red and vise versa.

Also reds usually take longer to call in than greys do. I have had many greys come straight in not showing a care in the world. I have even stood up in front of a grey and he still kept coming. That has never happened with a red. They seem to always come in slow and work real hard at getting down wind.

Both reds and greys are here. The coyotes have taken over lately but they are still around.

I see reds cross the road a couple times a year and have only seen one grey two years ago.

someday I hope a fox runs in front of my gun.
